Horseback Riding
Our wranglers will guide you through some of the most diverse and spectacular scenery in the west. Whether you are horseback riding on the Ranch, in the bordering Lee Metcalf Wilderness or Gallatin National Forest or in Yellowstone National Park, all of your riding takes place in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. We have a well-trained herd of horses and experienced wranglers who lead our rides with enjoyment, education and safety in mind. Click here for more information on our horseback riding program.
The Ranch offers 2 Hour and All Day Rides. 2 Hour Rides are available for riders of all ability levels and are a great way to see the tremendous landscape while learning about the area from your wrangler without committing to a whole day. All Day Rides are best for intermediate to experienced riders due to the length of time in the saddle and terrain that’s traveled.
Children 6 years of age and older are welcome on 2 Hour Rides. Children interested in going on the All Day Rides must be 12 years of age and older. For children under 6, Pony Rides are available. Private guided trips can be accommodated based on availability. There is a 230lb maximum weight limit per horse. Taxes and gratuities are not included. Please call or email for reservations and questions.
2 Hour Rides $65 per person
All Day Rides $195 per person
Pony Rides $30 per child
Fly Fishing
Lone Mountain Ranch’s ideal location in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, which has the largest concentration of blue-ribbon trout fisheries on the planet, provides for exceptional fly fishing experiences. Whether you are inspired to cast a line for the first time after seeing A River Runs Through It and want to stand in the same stretch of the Gallatin River or you are an avid fly fisherman, the ORVIS® award-winning guides at Lone Mountain Ranch will deliver a memorable fly fishing vacation.
The Lone Mountain Ranch fly fishing program is designed to not only provide personalized Fly Fishing instruction, but also to educate guests about the science of fly fishing and the ecosystem the fish live in. Your fly fishing trip will be planned specifically for you based on your interests and skill level and anglers of all levels are welcome.
Walk/wade or drift boat trips are available and our Fly Fishing Program Manager will make a recommendation on what water to fish based on the conditions. He may suggest spending some time on the Gallatin, Madison or Yellowstone Rivers, Hebgen Lake, the waters of Yellowstone National Park or a private spring creek. Click here for more information on the Ranch’s ORVIS® Endorsed fly fishing program, rates and policies.

Dining Lodge and Saloon
Our cuisine is an epicurean exercise taking advantage of locally produced offerings where possible and prepared to satisfy the kind of appetite that develops after outdoor adventures. Dinner may include such Northern Rocky Mountain entrees as Rocky Mountain Farms Elk Medallions with a Brandy Peppercorn Pan Jus, Roasted Garlic Manhattan, Montana Russet Potato Gnocchi or Naturally-Raised Montana Ribeye Steak with a Roasted Shallot Demi-glace. For those nights where you are just looking for something simpler, we always have a good ole Montana-raised burger that exceed even the most grandiose expectations.
Dinner is served in the Dining Lodge, but make time to stop by the Saloon for a cocktail before heading into dinner. It is common to hear the sounds of live music bellowing from the Saloon and locals talking about their favorite fishing hole or hiking trail.

Saloon 3:30-10PM
