Animal Sighting in Yellowstone Park

We’ve had a great Winter so far, with good snow conditions , exciting animal sightings, and lots of return guests. We added some new trails in the Meadow by Town Center, which brings our ski trails up to 90 kilometers.

Some guests have been skiing from the Ranch down to the Golf Course, and over to Ouzel Falls. Another new ski tradition our guests have started is the “Brew-ski”. Our trail system connects from outside the Outdoor Shop down to the Village Center and the Lone Peak Brewery. It’s common to see guests emerge from their cabins mid-afternoon to head out for the fun ski down to the Meadow. Guests can schedule a shuttle back up to the Ranch when they are finished – a fun way to combine an easy ski and a taste of our local brewery!

Bobcat in YellowstoneYellowstone Snowcoach tours have been a popular Winter experience, and you never know what you’ll see on a trip into the Park. The wildlife can be unpredictable, so we are always keeping our eyes peeled for any sign of wolf, bison, elk, and the more elusive animals. Last week we saw a bobcat perched over the Madison River waiting for a swan to float by. It’s a rare sight to see any kind of cat, so we felt very lucky on this trip to see this beautiful animal. Combine wildlife sightings with Paint Pots, Geysers, snow ghosted trees, informative naturalists and all of the other wonders of the Park and it makes for a truly unique Winter adventure.
