Winter Update

We had a great opening with plenty of snow due to some early snowfalls in October.

The Holidays were a festive time, with many returning guests from past years. Great food, great company, great skiing and snow shoeing – what more could you ask for?

Christmas Day was fun with family events like snowshoe volley ball and sledding. The Brunch was amazing with roasted turkey and our house smoked ham, smoked salmon, Eggs Benedict, an omelet station, delectable salads, holiday pastries, breads and desserts. Later that day, guests feasted on a magnificent buffet set up in the center of the Dining Lodge, with a huge Swan ice sculpture (created by Ennion,) surrounded by Oysters on the Half Shell and shrimp, crab and lobster. Chef Ian and his culinary staff outdid themselves with such delights as Bison Wellington, salads, terrines and side dishes. Guests admired the dessert table laden with festive holiday treats.

January brought some new snow, many wonderful return guests and more fun events in the horizon. We are going to celebrate Mardi Gras Montana style with “Ski for Beads” days and a New Orleans Lunch on Fat Tuesday. Then, the popular Glide and Gorge returns on March 7, as participants ski the Meadow Trails, dine on gourmet fare and sample wine and beer from local vendors.

A great Winter at Lone Mountain Ranch!
