Summer is rapidly approaching in Southwest Montana and we are starting to think of all the wonderful adventures that come with warm weather. At Lone Mountain Ranch our guests enjoy a variety of activities focused on exploring our spectacular and unique environment in Yellowstone Country.
Join one of our exceptional naturalist guides for a hike through our backyard, the Lee Metcalf Wilderness area. You’ll learn all about area history and geology, and about native plants and animals. You might even get to see a moose or elk along the way! Or, cover more ground by taking a thrilling mountain bike ride on our local trails which are some of the best in the country. We’ll outfit you with a state of the art bike and give you the pointers and technique to tackle the trail like a pro.
You can also see the sights by horseback! Choose from shorter hour long rides or pack a lunch and head deep into Yellowstone Park on an all day adventure. The Outdoor Youth Adventures program also offers Pony Rides for the kids.
Yellowstone Park provides our guests a host of unique recreational opportunities. Aside from sweeping views of pristine wilderness and once in a lifetime sightings of grizzlies and wolves (among other wildlife), Yellowstone is one of the few places on earth where thermal features like geysers and fumaroles can be seen. In fact, Yellowstone has more geysers than everywhere else on earth combined! We offer weekly van tours to Old Faithful or the Grand Canyon of theĀ Yellowstone, but these aren’t your standard van tours. Our guides will provide informative commentary on Park history, geology, and wildlife and tie it into
current Park policy to give you a total perspective on Yellowstone’s past and future. You’ll also have ample opportunity to get out and experience Yellowstone by foot. Hikes range from walks around geyser basins to longer treks to hidden springs. Just let your guide know what you would like to do! At Lone Mountain Ranch we are here to make sure you have the best vacation of your life!
